Our History
The Morinville Adopt A Family Foundation Started as a grassroots endeavor that is completely run by community volunteers to this day. In 2012 two members of the Morinville Marvelous Moms Group wanted to help 2 local families in dire need. What started as a small project, turned into an overwhelming outpouring of love form the moms group, and as a result, 13 families were adopted that year. In the decade since then, the campaign has grown to fill a big community need and become a county wide project, assisting 80-90 of Morinville, Legal, Bon Accord, Gibbons, Redwater and Sturgeon County's most vulnerable families, with complete holiday relief, every single year.
What do we do?
Our team of organizers and volunteers work hard to meet the diverse needs of families. We communicate with each family to determine their unique needs and customize our hampers. We provide a turkey or ham, non perishables & pantry filler to last a week or two, and grocery gift cards for their fresh grocery needs. We hand pick and wrap gifts for the kids and teens, but also mom and dad! We include toiletries and basic cleaning products for the families, and even try to accommodate needs of the family pet where possible.
We try to lift as much strain and stress as possible off the shoulders of our friends and neighbors who are already struggling.
